Movie - October Baby, OPENING WEEKEND OCT 28TH!

WHY THIS MOVIE (AND YOUR TICKET) WILL MATTER
People love movies and more importantly, people love talking about movies. October Baby is a well-produced, emotional film with strong themes about the value of life and faith. It can help save lives and change minds. However, because it's a story of an abortion survivor, it's harder for a movie like this to get past Hollywood gatekeepers. Hollywood films are backed by major studios, but an indie film like October Baby only stays in theaters if tickets are selling.

Opening weekend is October 28-30th. We need you to take groups of people to the theater, spread the word and encourage others to go see this movie and have life-changing conversations that will be kicked off from seeing the movie.

The Amen Corner (10-20-11)

is moving to the Colonial Promenade in Alabaster.  It will reopen on Nov. 1st under the new name Sanctuary Christian Books and Gifts.

We had a wonderful time. Eighteen attended this year, 13 from our church and 5 friends/family members. We laughed, cried and held each other. The speakers and music were uplifting and refreshed our souls.   Angela Thomas spoke Friday night. Mandisa also performed and gave her testimony. It was 10:30 pm and I don’t think any of us realized what time it was!

We were back bright and early on Saturday (7:30 am) for a full day of fellowship.  Sheri Rose Shepherd, Lysa Terkeurst, Carol Kent and Chonda Pierce were the speakers on Saturday. Also, Michael O’Brien was the worship leader.

Each woman had a testimony and a talk that gave us laughter, tears and joy. There was something to take away from each woman. Sheri talked about how to love others, not to throw stones, even how to water the “weeds” as well as the flowers.

Lysa gave a great talk on how to deal with the messes in our lives. Carol showed us how to keep our faith in the face of hardship, using the example of her son being in prison.

If you think you would like to attend next year or know someone that you would like to invite to attend with us next year, here are the particulars:

April 27 and 28, 2012

Cost $71.00 – this includes box lunch on Saturday and reserved seating.

I need a count by October 2011, as that is when I have to purchase the tickets at this reduced price. I look forward to hearing from everyone.
